Former Law Enforcement sergeant Nicholas Bloed Sentenced to 8 Years in State Prison, Must Register as Sex Offender for Minimum of 10 Years
San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced today that former law enforcement sergeant Nicholas Bloed has been sentenced to eight years in state prison following his guilty plea to four felony counts involving crimes committed against four separate victims.
On March 28, 2025, Bloed pleaded guilty to:
• Two counts of Penal Code 287(k) – Oral copulation by threat of arrest • Two counts of Penal Code 149(a) – Assault by a public officer under color of authority
The convictions for oral copulation by threat of arrest are classified as serious felonies under California’s Three Strikes Law, resulting in two strikes on Bloed’s criminal record.
As part of the sentence, Bloed has been remanded into custody and is required to register as a sex offender under Penal Code 290 for a minimum of 10 years, after which he may petition for termination of registration.
District Attorney Ron Freitas stated:
“Nicholas Bloed’s reprehensible abuse of authority as a law enforcement officer is a grotesque betrayal of the public’s trust and the principles of justice. This 8-year prison sentence and mandatory sex offender registration serve as an irrefutable warning: those who exploit their power to prey on others will face severe consequences. We stand with the victims, ensuring their courage drives our pursuit of justice."
