Nicholas Bloed Arraigned on New Charges

San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced that Nicholas Bloed was arraigned today on a new set of felony sexual assault charges in the San Joaquin County Superior Court. While Bloed is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence for prior sexual assault convictions, these new charges arise from criminal conduct alleged to have occurred in March of 2022.

The new felony charges filed against Bloed include:

  • COUNT 1: Oral Copulation by Threat of Authority to Arrest/Deport (PC 287(k))
  • COUNT 2: Rape by Threat to Arrest/Deport (PC 261(a)(7))
  • COUNT 3: Oral Copulation by Threat of Authority to Arrest/Deport (PC 287(k))
  • COUNT 4: Rape by Threat to Arrest/Deport (PC 261(a)(7))
  • COUNT 5: Assault by Public Officer (PC 149)

In addition to the counts listed above, the District Attorney’s Office has also alleged aggravating factors for sentencing, which include the defendant’s planning, sophistication, and professionalism (Rule of Court 4.421(a)(8)), as well as the victimization of a particularly vulnerable individual (Rule of Court 4.421(a)(3)). The People have also filed notice under California Evidence Code section 1108 to seek the admission of uncharged sexual offenses, which would include his prior felony sexual assault convictions.

"A previous sentence does not grant a pass for additional victims or uncharged crimes," said District Attorney Ron Freitas. "Our pursuit of justice is exhaustive. We will continue to bring every viable charge to light to ensure that this defendant is held fully accountable for the total scope of his actions against our community."

The next scheduled court date for this matter is February 27, 2026 at 1:30 PM in Department 8B for further arraignment.

The full criminal complaint is a matter of public record and may be accessed through the San Joaquin County Superior Court's Public Access Portal.
