San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced that Courtney Law, was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Mallett to 39 years to life for his role in a dangerous shooting at the 133 Club in Manteca on January 28, 2024.
Case Details:
Following a bar fight, Law retrieved an assault rifle from a nearby residence and returned to the 133 Club, where he fired multiple rounds at two unarmed men standing outside. One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the foot while fleeing, and bullets penetrated the building, forcing patrons inside to duck and hide for safety. Miraculously, no additional injuries were reported.
District Attorney Ron Freitas commented on the sentencing: “My office will not tolerate reckless violence that threatens lives and shatters the peace of our community. The defendant’s actions endangered countless people, and this sentence ensures he faces the consequences of that very dangerous choice.”
The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office extends its gratitude to Deputy District Attorney Kyle Harrison for his dedicated prosecution and to Manteca Police Detective Russ Smith for his meticulous investigative work, both of whom were critical to achieving this outcome.
